Annarie Lyles, Ph.D. (G3), is President of the Lyles Council, which represents sixty people spanning three generations of a business-owning family. The business was founded in 1945 in the oil fields of Avenal, and is now headquartered in Fresno, CA. Lyles Diversified, Inc. has grown into a family and employee-owned enterprise with three holding businesses and a new advisory board with independent directors. Its construction group, where most employees work, is California’s largest environmental and water contractor. Other lines of business include agriculture, real-estate and investing. The family maintains its tradition of community service and philanthropy via a foundation and individually. Outside of the family enterprise, Annarie works to protect and restore the health of living systems from individuals to habitats. Her portfolio of roles includes managing an impact investing business and serving in board and leadership roles with for- and non-profits. During prior careers, she negotiated biotechnology deals, helped run zoos, and advised rare species breeding programs. Annarie earned degrees in biology from Yale and Princeton and has authored over three dozen publications. At home in Princeton, NJ, she relishes rambles with hounds and getting her hands dirty restoring forests.
