As a Senior Family Dynamics Consultant with the Family Wealth and Culture Services group, Lorilee Mills provides strategic consulting for ultra-high-net-worth individuals, couples and multigenerational families on family dynamics, education, and governance. With over 25 years of experience in building high-performing teams, leadership development and business transitions, Lorilee is able to successfully advise families on use of effective communication-making strategies, educational tools, engaging the rising generation for wealth stewardship and supporting the evolution and transitions of the family business.
Prior to assuming her current role, Lorilee developed initiatives that aided in leaders and advisors increase effectiveness and inspire transformational growth. She also served as an executive coach providing consultation and customized strategies to senior leaders and their teams. With the use of tools like DISC® and Motivators and Clifton StrengthsFinders™, her work helped to support effective leadership transitions, organizational and culture change and diversity and inclusion integration. She also led a team of Human Resources professionals who provided consultation concerning complex employee relations issues and business strategies.
Lorilee holds a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from Iowa State University. She completed an executive coaching certification at Columbia University Business School and Teachers College. Lorilee also co-authored several book chapters on creating an impactful coaching culture within large organizations.
Lorilee is an active volunteer in her community and is a member of the Women’s and Generation Connections. She also volunteers for Dress for Success where she helps to empower women to achieve economic independence via resume and interview skills development and access to professional attire. She and her husband have two sons and reside in Des Moines, Iowa.

Fostering Deeper Family Engagement – Speaker
How do you get and keep family members involved and engaged in a way that helps both the family and the business? Inclusivity, transparency and accountability can be powerful . And these can be fostered in a variety of ways, including through a family council. This session will discuss strategies for family members to get involved, strengthen ties with their cousins and learn about the business.
